Calling all Music Enthusiasts and Live-Sound Engineers To Be!!
Announcing the Midpen Media Center’s 2017 “STUDIO MUSIC MIX” training — an all-inclusive, hands-on, advanced audio workshop designed for micing and mixing live musical performances in the TV studio environment. This workshop takes students from theory, through board and band setup, to multi-track monitoring/recording with a LIVE musical group.
Here’s what you’ll get over the course of the training!
- The Fundamentals: SIGNAL PATH! SIGNAL PATH! SIGNAL PATH! …and Compression, Gain Stages, Gating, EQ, Effects
- Micing/Staging: Mic Selection, Channel Lists/Band Plots, Band Setup, Mic Placement
- Monitoring: Monitoring for the musicians, audience, technician
- Mixing: Multi-track mix practice with pre-recorded, as well as live tracks
Your instructor is field-seasoned Musician and Sound Engineer Byron Binns (Drummer with MidLife Vices: http://www.midlifevices.net; TecStiX Productions: http://www.tecstix.com), and you’ll be mixing on the digital Soundcraft Si Performer 3.
