Aspiring and experienced media producers can find classes to increase their skills at the Media Center. Hardware, software, and production values are covered by experienced instructors in a relaxed environment. We highly recommend that you start with our free hour-long Orientation session.
Learn to operate our high-definition Hitachi Z-HD6000-ST1 cameras and get the sharp, well-composed images that make for attractive TV. The class includes introduction to the basic functions of the camera plus considerations of the aesthetics of what constitutes a good image. During this two-hour class, you’ll get hands-on time with the cameras and demonstrations and help from an expert instructor.
We’ll also spend a little time discussing floor directing. The floor director works in the studio to help the director organize the show.
With this module and the Television Studio Overview module, you can be one of the volunteer camera operators and floor directors who help create our shows. We recommend that you take the Television Studio Overview module before taking this module, but you may take them in either order.
Cost: $35 ($20 if you’ve taken the Comprehensive Studio Basics class) (two hours)
Please call (650) 494-8686 x10 if you have any problems with registration.
