Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month — a national month-long celebration of black achievements and excellence. At the Midpen Media Center, we believe it is vital to bring this recognition home each year by curating black-experience-focused programming on Channel 75 every day of the week. With this year’s lineup, we hope to inspire, move, educate, and empower our community with discussions of racism, reparations, police reformation, and black identity. We’ll also be exploring the work of black creators like Alice Walker, and showcasing black composers with a focus on opera and blues. Content will range from interviews held in the Midpen Media Center’s studio to made-for-television docu-dramas featuring major actors like Morgan Freeman.
