This class is taught in 12 weekly Thursday sessions, beginning on January 7 and ending March 25, 2027 from 5-7 PM each session. 

If you like to draw and dream of making your creations come to life, this class is for you! Join us for an exciting journey into the world of animation, where students will explore both digital animation using the drawing software Procreate and hands-on stop motion and claymation techniques.

Over this 12-week after school course, students will learn how to use Procreate and CapCut to create stunning animations, from simple drawings to more complex motion graphics. They will also discover the fundamentals of stop motion animation and claymation, using cameras, props, and clay characters to bring physical creations to life frame by frame. Throughout the course, students will explore different drawing styles, learn how to portray the physics of movement in a realistic yet expressive way, work with music and sound, and touch on storytelling principles and character design, all through exciting group and individual projects. Going more in-depth than our summer or spring camps, this program is designed for the passionate student interested in growing their skills. No experience, however, is necessary.

Required materials: An iPad with a stylus and the apps “Procreate” and “CapCut” installed.
