Local Heroes: May 29th at 8PM

The Local Hero Awards are back! After a one-time pandemic hiatus, we invite you to meet some of the most inspiring people in our community as they receive their awards. Join us for six short videos that tell their intimate, moving, and uplifting stories.
Each year, Midpen Media selects six local unsung heroes providing amazing service to our local community. Each hero is featured in a short documentary telling the story of their work and presented with the Local Heroes Award. It’s our biggest community event of the year, and we want you to join us! This year we are telling the stories of the following change-makers:
HOLLY CHENETTE: a teacher at Eastside Prep and volunteer cat collector/caretaker. Over the past 15 years she has Trapped, Neutered, and Released (TNR) hundreds of cats in East Palo Alto.
SARAHI ESPINOZA: a formerly undocumented immigrant who has created an app and a non-profit start-up that helps undocumented students get college scholarships.
RUTH PATRICK: the creator of WomenSV, an organization dedicated to helping domestic abuse survivors in Silicon Valley.
JESSICA RADMILOVIC: at the age of 16, a skiing accident left her a paraplegic. She is now a Recreational Therapist at the Palo Alto VA.
EVELYNE KEOMIAN: the founder and director of the Karat School Project, which runs a school for street children in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where she herself was once a street child.
CHRIS RICHARDSON: the Chief Program Officer for the Downtown Streets Team, an innovative and highly successful program that works with and employs homeless residents to help keep downtown Palo Alto clean.
