Greetings. Last month we heard from our outgoing Board President, Less Lincoln, who provided an outstanding update on 2021. Since we are beginning a new year, I’d like to start by wishing you a Happy New Year and thanking you for your continuing support. I’ll also let you know what you can expect from me as Board President over the next two years. I’m excited to take on this role as we dive into 2022 and the next phase of the organization’s evolution.
We are kicking off the year with a renewed focus on the long-term sustainability of Midpen Media. The board has approved a 2022 budget with a revenue focus on program services, production services, and fundraising. We’ve also launched a new Vision Committee to focus on creating a strategic plan for the organization’s growth and sustainability.
My focus will be on finding ways to strengthen our alliances with all stakeholders, from volunteers and producers to donors, employees, technology leaders, and government officials as we expand community awareness and continue rebuilding and ensuring the sustainability of Midpen Media. I will be participating in calls with Philanthropy groups at several Silicon Valley companies and encouraging active participation by the Board in supporting our fundraising activities and efforts. I welcome your recommendations for fundraising initiatives you think might be a fit.
I’ll also be updating you on issues related to strategic partnerships, board developments, and governance issues in the name of greater transparency about the organization and our activities.
Midpen Media has a rich history of serving the local community through its network of producers, volunteers, and community influencers. In 2022 we will rely even more heavily on our stakeholders to help spread awareness of how together we can help elevate voices from all corners of our community and come back stronger than ever with more events, wider producer representation, and long-term sustainability.
