A citizen reaction against a Palo Alto staff recommendation to support further negotiations on how much of the
Tuolumne River should be diverted for urban and farming usage resulted in a unanimous council vote in support of the Bay Delta Plan. The plan is opposed by those who feel the environmental sustainability measures regarding water flow could end up harming agricultural output and urban needs. Former Mayor Peter Drekmeier, who now works for the Tuolumne River Trust spoke in favor of the Bay Delta Plan (1 hr 25 min. into the clip), saying negotiations over the past 4 years have gone almost nowhere.
