It is recommended the Board Approve minutes for May 10, and May 24, 2016

D. Proposed Calendar for Board of Education Meetings – 2016-17 School Year

It is recommended the Board approve their meeting schedule for the 2016-17 school year. This item was discussed at the May 24, 2016, regular meeting.

E. Ratification of Representative to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Central Coast Section (CCS) League

It is recommended the Board approve the appointments for the 2016-17 school year.

F. Annual Request to Submit an Application for Consolidated Categorical Aid

It is recommended the Board of Education approve the request to submit an application for Consolidated Categorical Aid, Part 1, June 30, 2016.

Action / Discussion / Information Items

A. Proposed PAUSD Budget 2016-2017

The Board will discuss adoption of the 2016-17 budget; adoption of the budget for Fund 21-210; approving three resolutions regarding budget transfer authority and interfund borrowing. In addition, the Board will discuss the allocation of $340,000.

 

 

B. Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

The Board will discuss the plan and make any recommendations for the final draft.

 

 

C. Management Reorganization and Reclassifications

The Board will discuss the reclassification for several positions.

D. Proposed Salary Increase for Substitute Teachers

The Board will discuss approving an increase to the daily pay rates for substitute teachers for the 2016-17 school year.

 

 

E. Compensation Changes for Adult Education Teachers

With state funds for adult education now available, the Board will discuss an increase, the first since 2013.

 

 

F. Student Nutrition Services Contract

The Board will discuss renewing the food services management and consulting contract with Sodexo for 2016-17.

 

 

G. Contracts for Legal Services for 2016-2017

The Board will discuss renewing contracts for legal services for 2016-17.

 

 

H. Appointment of Citizens’ Oversight Committee for the Measure A Parcel Tax

The Board will discuss appointment of committee members.

I. Appointment of Members to the Citizens’ Oversight Committee for the Strong Schools Bond

The Board will discuss appointment of committee members.

 

 

J. Authorization to Award Contract for Unleaded and Diesel Fuel

The Board will consider authorizing staff to award the bid for unleaded and diesel fuel to Valley Oil Company for a period of three years, with two possible one-year extensions.

K. Authorization to Contract for 2016-17 with fs3|Hodges for Bond Program Management

The Board will discuss authoring a contract with fs3|Hodges in an amount not to exceed $1,224,580 for Bond Program Management in 2016-17.

 

 

L. Resolution for Classified Reduction in Service Related to the Defunding of the Adult Transition Partnership Program

The Board will consider approving a resolution to reduce the classified staff portion of the District budget by 2.375 fulltime equivalent (FTE) positions due to reduction in Federal Funding for TPP Adult Program.

M. Renewal of the Transitional Partnership Program (TPP) Contract for 2016-17

The Board will discuss approving the TPP contract. The district will receive over $300,000 for participants.

 

 

N. Lease Agreement for Child Care Services at Nixon

The Board of Education will discuss the Lease Contract with Kids Choice.

 

 

O. Costs of Issuance for May 2016 Bond

Staff will present information on the Costs of Issuance for the series 2016 bond issue.

P. Appropriation of Budget for the Cost of Issuance for May 2016 Bond

The Board will discuss the appropriation of funds for the Cost of Issuance of the Series 2016 bond issue.

Q. Board of Education Assignments for the 2016-17 Academic Year

The Board will discuss their assignments for school sites and programs for the 2016-17 academic year.

R. Registrar of Voters – Preparation Documents for November 8, 2016, Board Election

Currently, three seats on the Board of Education will be subject to election/reelection in November. The Board must make several determinations so the correct information is provided to candidates.

 

 

S. Board Policy Review Committee (BPRC) Meeting – June 9, 2016

A matrix of the policies proposed for discussion at the next BPRC meeting is included for informational purposes.

T. Award of Contract for Modification of Gunn Portables to Music Classroom

It is recommended the Board of Education authorize entering into a contract related to Gunn portable buildings.

U. Addendum to Certificated Personnel Actions: Appointment of Assistant Superintendent: Chief Academic Officer – Elementary

It is recommended the Board of Education approve the appointment of Assistant Superintendent: Chief Academic Officer – Elementary.

V. Addendum to Certificated Personnel Actions: Appointment of Assistant Superintendent: Chief Academic Officer – Secondary

It is recommended the Board of Education approve the appointment of Assistant Superintendent: Chief Academic Officer – Secondary.

W. Certificated Personnel Action: Approval of Bond Manager Contract

It is recommended the Board of Education approve the reauthorized contract of the Bond Manager.
