Approval of Consent Calendar

A. Certificated Personnel Actions

It is recommended the Board approve the certificated personnel actions as presented.

B. Classified Personnel Actions

It is recommended the Board approve the classified personnel actions as presented.

C. Approval of Minutes

It is recommended the Board approve minutes for August 31, 2016.

D. Teaching Assignments for Departmentalized Subjects

It is recommended the Board authorize six teachers, who have met coursework requirements, to teach in those single subject areas as presented. This item was discussed at the August 23, 2016, regular meeting.

E. Renewal of Student Teaching and Intern Agreements

It is recommended the Board authorize staff to enter into student teaching/internship agreements with 27 institutions on an as needed basis as presented. This item was discussed at the August 23, 2015, regular meeting.

F. Board Policy Updates

It is recommended the Board approve the Administrative Regulation as presented. Policy AR 5141.21 Administering Medication and Monitoring Health Conditions. This policy was discussed at its June 21, 2016, Board meeting.

A. Certification of Availability of Textbooks and Instructional Materials

There will be a public hearing prior to Board discussion of this item later on the agenda.

A. Elementary Mathematics Pilot

Approval of series for elementary mathematics textbook pilot.

 

 

B. Enrollment and Class Size Report

Staff will present the Eleventh Day Enrollment Report and a comprehensive overview of the Secondary school class sizes.

 

 

C. 2015-16 Ending Balance and Budget Update for 2016-17, Resolution#2016- 17.04: Adoption of Appropriation Limits for 2015-16 and 2016-17

The Board will discuss revising the 2016-17 budget; filling the 2015-16 unaudited actuals; adopting a resolution to establish the Appropriation Limit for 2016-17 and 2015-16; and approving the Education Protection Account spending for 2015-16.

 

 

D. Budget Management

Discussion financial projection scenarios and recommendation for managing shortfall in 2017-18.

 

 

E. Certification of Availability of Textbooks and Instructional Materials

In order to be eligible to receive instructional material funds, school districts must ensure they have fully complied with the requirements of Ed Code 60119. The Board will discuss this annual certification.

F. Approval of a Schematic Design for Addison as a Three Strand School and a CEQA Exemption for the Project

The Board will discuss the schematic design for Addison, authorization to file a CEQA exemption for the project, and acknowledging that Addison will be constructed as a three strand school.

G. Authorization to Bid Central Building Project (Gunn)

The Board will discuss authorizing staff to solicit bids.

H. Board Policy Review Committee (BPRC) Meeting – September 16, 2016
