Public Hearing
A. Certification of Availability of Textbooks and Instructional Materials:
There will be a public hearing prior to Board discussion of this item later on the agenda.


Action / Discussion / Information Items
A. Superintendent’s Search Process:
It is recommended the Board authorize next steps in the process for filling the position of Superintendent.


B. Authorization to Accept a Donation to Palo Alto High School:
It is recommended the Board accept a generous contribution in the amount of $75,114.00 from the Emily Benatar Foundation.


C. Approval of BP 5116.2A Involuntary Student Transfers:
Staff recommends the adoption of a new policy from CSBA regarding involuntary student transfer. This item was discussed and approved at the Board Policy Review Committee (BPRC) meeting on Aug. 31, 2017.


D. 2016-17 Ending Balance and Budget Update for 2017-18 Resolution No. 2017-18.06:
Adoption of Appropriation Limits for 2016-17 and 2017-18. The Board will consider action at this meeting.


E. Approval of Lease of Part of the Briones OH Center to Santa Clara County:
Subject to discussion at this meeting, it will be recommended at a subsequent meeting the Board approve a lease that continues the use of a part of the Briones OH Center by Santa Clara County for use as a medical therapy center.


The Board will consider action at this meeting.


G. Approval for Assistant Superintendent Contract:
It is recommended the Board approve the Employment Contract of Yolanda Conaway, Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Initiatives and Operations. This item was previously discussed at the September 12, 2017, regular Board meeting.


H. Approval of Superintendent’s 2015-16 and 2016-17 Contractual Compensation:
The Board is asked to approve the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Superintendent contractual compensation retroactively based on satisfactory evaluations for 2014-15 and 2015-16. This item was previously discussed at the September 12, 2017, regular Board meeting.


I. Certification of Availability of Textbooks and Instructional Materials:
In order to be eligible to receive instructional material funds, school districts must ensure they have fully complied with the requirements of Ed Code 60119. The Board will discuss this annual certification.


J. OCR Letter of Findings re PAUSD from March 8, 2017:
The Board will review the Office for Civil Rights letter of findings of March 8, 2017 and take public comment.
