Studio Rentals & Production Support

Midpen Media Center’s professionally equipped TV studio is available for rental seven days a week for professional productions, nonprofit projects, educational programming, podcasts, interviews, livestreams, and community media productions.

Whether you are producing a promotional video, recording a training program, documenting an event, creating a podcast, or developing original studio content, our team can help support your production needs both in the field and in the studio.

Production support services may include:

  • Studio production assistance
  • Camera and audio support
  • Livestream support
  • Teleprompter operation
  • Editing and post-production assistance
  • Production coordination

Community Producer Access

Community Producers may qualify for reduced community access rates if they meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Project must be noncommercial
  • Must reside within the Midpen Media Center service area, including Atherton, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and qualifying areas of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties within the Comcast service area
  • Must complete the Studio Production Basics Class prior to producing a studio program
  • Must agree to allow Midpen Media Center to air the completed program on community cable channels, YouTube, and the Midpen Media Center website.

The TV Studio dimensions are 40′ x 35′ and it has the following equipment:

  • 4 Hitachi Z-HD6000-ST1 Studio Cameras (HD)
  • Hitachi Z-HD6000-ST1 Studio Camera on a Jib! (HD)
  • 4 ISO Video Disk Recorders (capable of recording ProRes)
  • Cartoni C20S Tripods
  • 3 Listec Video Teleprompters
  • Green Screen (Chromakey) wall
  • Light grid w/ 22 Fresnel lights, 8 Floodlights, 5 Fluorescent Banks, 2 Leko spots
  • 70” Interactive “Smart Board” with HD LED display

  • Newtek Tricaster 8000 Production Switcher w/Multi-Camera Green Screen Capability
  • Soundcraft Si Performer 3 Digital Sound Mixer (with compressor on each bus)
  • Phone lines wired to an audio board for call-in shows
  • Live Text Graphics Station
  • Multitrack Audio recorder
  • 4 ISO Video Disk Recorders (capable of recording ProRes)
  • NSI Light Dimmer Controller
  • Horizon Lighting Control Computer for Complex Lighting Cues
  • Three Listec Teleprompters
