From host of “Fowl Play,” a youth summer camp gameshow, to operating the audio board for access shows, high school student Michael Kim is a skilled Midpen Media Center intern. Over the course of a year, Kim has put in over 100 hours of volunteer time at the studio. For the past two summers, he’s taught kids how to use studio equipment and mentored them through producing shows. Kim has also worked on shows filming in the evenings, lending his directing chops and other studio production skills.

Sara Bennett, Youth Summer Camp manager, is recognizing Kim’s outstanding volunteer service with a Presidential Service Award bronze medal and document signed by the President of the United States. Bennett says Kim is great at working with kids, is a positive force of energy at the studio. She wants to thank him for all his hard work. “He’s going to be a famous filmmaker!” says Bennett.
