H. Authorization to Award an Architectural Services Contract in the Amount of $115,000 to Verde Design for the Replacement of the Turf Fields at Palo Alto and Gunn High School: It is recommended the Board authorize award of a design contract in the amount of $115,000 to Verde Design for architectural services for the replacement of the artificial turf football field and soccer/lacrosse field at Palo Alto High School and the football field at Gunn High School.

I. Request for Approval of Waiver of Two Years Teaching Experience for Dr. Clarisse Haxton: It is recommended the Board approve PAUSD to apply for a waiver of two years teaching experience. – MOVED TO ACTION

J. History-Social Science Instructional Materials Recommendation for Government for Henry M. Gunn and Palo Alto High School: It is recommended the Board adopt the McGraw-Hill IMPACT: Principles of American Democracy and its online materials.

K. History-Social Science Instructional Materials Recommendation for World History and Contemporary World History Instructional Materials for Henry M. Gunn High School and Palo Alto High School: It is recommended the Board adopt the Cengage World History 9th Edition and its supplementary primary source text, The Human Record, Volume II.

L. Dual Enrollment Memorandum Between Foothill-De Anza Community College and Palo Alto Unified School District: It is recommended the Board approve the proposed Dual Enrollment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Foothill College and PAUSD.

M. Student Nutrition Services Consultant Contract for 2019-20: It is recommended the Board renew the food service management and consulting contract with Sodexo for 2019-20.

A. Employment Agreement for Chief Business Officer: It is recommended the Board waive the two-meeting rule and approve the employment contract of Ms. Carolyn Chow as the Chief Business Officer of Palo Alto Unified School District for the term July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021.

 

 

B. Addition of June 18, 2019, as a Regular Board Meeting: It is recommended the Board approve the addition of June 18, 2019, as a Regular Board Meeting.

 

 

C. Tentative Agreement with California School Employees Association (CSEA): It is recommended that the Board approve the Tentative Agreement with CSEA.

 

 

D. Initial Proposals to the Board of Education for Negotiations with California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 301: It is recommended the Board approve reopeners for CSEA for the 2019-20 school year.

 

 

E. Initial Proposals to the Board of Education for Negotiations with Palo Alto Educators Association (PAEA): It is recommended the Board approve reopeners for PAEA for the 2019-20 school year.

 

 

F. Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators for Certificated Employees: It is recommended the Board: 1) waive the two-meeting rule, 2) approve the Declaration of Need for 2019-20 as presented, so we may apply for permits as needed prior to the start of the new school year.

 

 

G. Approve Budget Allocation for Measure Z: It is recommended the Board approve the attached budget for the Measure Z – Strong Schools Bond.

B. Resolution No. 2018-19.14 Authorizing the Issuance of 2019-20 Tax and Revenue Anticipation Notes of the District and Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara to Issue and Sell Said Notes in an Amount Not to Exceed $20,000,000: It is recommended the Board adopt Resolution No. 2018-19.14 Authorizing the Issuance of 2019-20 Tax and Revenue Anticipation Notes of the District and Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara to Issue and Sell Said Notes in an Amount Not to Exceed $20,000,000.

 

 

C. Resolution No. 2018-19.15 Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Bonds of the Palo Alto Unified School District in an Amount Not to Exceed $30,000,000, by Public Sale; Prescribing the Terms of Said Bonds; Approving the Form and Authorizing the Execution and Delivery of an Official Notice of Sale, a Paying Agent Agreement, a Continuing Disclosure Certificate, and an Official Statement Relating to Said Bonds; and Authorizing the Execution of Necessary Certificates and Documents Relating to Said Bonds: It is recommended the Board adopt Resolution No. 2018-19.15.

 

 

D. Approval of Projects at Gunn and Palo Alto High Schools and Authorization to Issue Addendum No. 24 to HED Architects: It is recommended the Board approve Addendum No. 24 to HED Architects to provide conceptual design services for the Measure Z group one projects at Gunn and Palo Alto High Schools, in the amount of $56,000.

 

 

E. Authorization to Award Contract for Copiers: It is recommended the Board authorize the District to lease 19 Canon Copiers from Canon Solutions America Inc.

 

 

F. Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), PK-12: It is recommended the Board review and discuss the PK-12 SPSA Executive Summaries for the 2017-18 school year, and the proposed SPSA Reports for the 2019-20 school year. – POSTPONED

 

 

G. Chief Academic Officer of Secondary Education, 2% Off Schedule: It is recommended the Board
approve a salary increase of 2% mid-year and a 2% one-time, off-schedule payment calculated
using the current base salary of $208,049.
H. 2% One-time Off-schedule Payment: It is recommended the Board approve the Chief Academic
Officer of Elementary Education, Chief Business Officer, the Assistant Superintendent of Strategic
Initiatives and Operations, and the Deputy Superintendent for a 0% percent ongoing salary increase
for the 2018-19 school year with a 2% one-time off-schedule payment calculated using the current
base salary of each employee.

 

 

I. Salary Schedule for Contracted Management Positions: It is recommended the Board approve the salary schedule for contracted management positions beginning July 1, 2019.

 

 

J. Employment Agreement for Assistant Superintendent of Education Services – Secondary: It is recommended the Board approve the employment contract of Ms. Sharok Ofek as the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, Secondary, of Palo Alto Unified School District for the term of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021.

 

 

K. Employment Agreement for Assistant Superintendent of Education Services – Elementary: It is recommended the Board approve the employment contract of Ms. Anne Brown as the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, Elementary, of Palo Alto Unified School District for the term of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021.

 

L. Employment Agreement for Assistant Superintendent of Equity and Student Affairs: It is recommended the Board approve the employment contract of Ms. Yolanda Conaway as the Assistant Superintendent of Equity and Student Affairs of Palo Alto Unified School District for the term of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021.

 

M. Employment Agreement for Deputy Superintendent: It is recommended the Board approve the employment contract of Ms. Karen Hendricks as the Deputy Superintendent of Palo Alto Unified School District for the term of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021.
